More than netbooks we talk about thin-client laptops or at least one derives their consumer, given the allocation of primary interfaces of these laptops. Both have in fact only the second port on the back and a multiformat memory card reader. Lacking in particular audio jack and a RJ-45 port for connection to Ethernet LAN.

Even the hardware platform is low. ECS T10IL1 (the one already branded Olivetti torque) is based on a first-generation Atom processor, a Diamondville N270 or N280, along with 2GB max memory and magnetic storage on a 1.8-inch disks. ECS T21IL1, however, have processors ULV Intel Celeron or Pentium SU2300 SU4100 (although the prototype on display at Computex was mounting a CPU U2700), 2GB max memory on a single socket and magnetic hard disk, 1.8 inches.

The absence of integrated Ethernet LAN suggests a target consumer, as well as white plastic chassis suggest that it is ultra-cheap laptops that may be offered for a nominal price or cost in connection with a promotion to a plan or a subscription. We note the fact that 10-inch model, T10IL1 ECS has the ability to mount an integrated broadband wireless module, such as a 3G modem.

The beauty care and clean, linear design, enlivened by colorful cover polished IMR, contribute to an overall pleasant, which may collect consensus among younger users. Do not miss a keyboard and a touchpad with an island unique selection bar which reinforces the already considerable resemblance to the entry-level MacBook.

The exclusive presence of wireless network interfaces, ultra-thin thickness of about 2.5 cm and a weight in their class (for 1kg netbook 10-inch and 1.2 kg for twins from 11.6 inches) for these products use on the move.

Refer to future updates and details of any explanations by Olivetti and Telecom Italy.
