Nintendo Wii HD due to VDIGI VD-W3

Unless you use a PC with monitor and graphics card that supports high definition, your Wii can not support high definition. One company, however, argues that with its new device that possibility exists.

VDIGI calculates that its upscaler VD-W3 can take a Wii classic with a little magic to make it in 1080p (high definition proper). For the uninitiated, at present the Nintendo Wii can only support the 480p.

This does not mean that the Wii will be in high definition. This is a “cheat”, just as many TVs and DVD players (even the console) can run, called “upscaling”, where a signal is produced in standard definition, and then leave as a cleaner image. Expensive TV makes a great job. So does the PS3. Cheap DVD players but not so much. If you have an HDTV, surely the set is already looking for high quality video signals from your Wii.

For $ 75 converter VDIGI is a good device for those who love high definition. The screens available on the Company’s website, taken with a camera rather than an actual screen capture device does not look great (not at Dolphin emulator for PC).
